FINS Team Information Team Vision Coaching Our Coaches focus on developing the swimmer's stroke technique, aerobic capacity, and life skills through practices and meets. Our coaching staff focuses on helping the swimmer to have fun and develop a love for the sport while they work on reaching their full potential as a swimmer. Swimmers are assigned after a tryout to an appropriate level based on their skills. The Indy Dolphins have five levels of swimmers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Gold Elite, and Senior. The Indy Dolphins has two seasons, the summer and winter season. The winter season runs from September to March and the summer season runs between April and August. Meets The athlete has the opportunity to sign up and compete in meets during the season. The parent selects the sessions the athlete would like to participate in and the coach selects the events. A session typically has between 30 and 150 athletes per age group and last less than 4 hours. Volunteering The Indy Dolphins typically host 2 meets in the winter and 1 in the summer season. The proceeds from the meets are used to help pay for the coaches salaries. There usually are 5 or 6 sessions per meet requiring 60 plus volunteers per session. As a member of the Indy Dolphins team, your family is expected to help out by volunteering for our meets. To sign up for the fins please contact: Ed Merkling
